| Ive got a Lenovo Z510 with an Intel i7 4702MQ @ 2.20GHz, 8 GB of ram and the video card is a GeForce GT 740M and it's barely playable. I had to lower the resolution to 1280x720 (from 1920x1080) and the DisplayModeBitDepth to 16 in D3Prefs.txt to get a decent framerate but even with that I still get less then 10 fps when fighting an elite or when there is alot of enemies on the screen. Oh and I forgot to mention that my ingame video settings are all set to the lowest possible. I'm also forced to play in windowed mode because of the black screen bug on some laptops including the Z510. Drivers are version 335.23, OS is Windows 8.1 D3Prefs.txt: PreferencesVersion "46" PlayedCutscene0 "0" PlayedCutscene1 "0" PlayedCutscene2 "0" PlayedCutscene3 "0" PlayedCutscene4 "1" DisplayModeFlags "0" DisplayModeWindowMode "2" DisplayModeWinLeft "0" DisplayModeWinTop "0" DisplayModeWinWidth "1280" DisplayModeWinHeight "720" DisplayModeUIOptWidth "1280" DisplayModeUIOptHeight "720" DisplayModeWidth "1280" DisplayModeHeight "720" DisplayModeRefreshRate "60" DisplayModeBitDepth "16" Gamma "1.000000" MipOffset "1" ShadowQuality "0" ShadowDetail "0" PhysicsQuality "0" ClutterQuality "0" Vsync "0" Letterbox "0" Antialiasing "0" LowFX "1" LockCursorInFullscreenWindowed "0" LimitForegroundFPS "0" MaxForegroundFPS "200" LimitBackgroundFPS "0" MaxBackgroundFPS "8" DisableTrilinearFiltering "0" ColorCorrection "1" MipBias "-0.000000" ReflectionQuality "0" HardwareClass "1" PCIVendor "4318" PCIDevice "4754" flSafeZoneLeft "0.000000" MasterVolume "0.020000" EffectVolume "0.500000" MusicVolume "0.800000" NarrationVolume "0.490000" AmbientVolume "0.500000" ChannelsToUse "32" SoundDriver "0" SpeakerMode "0" ReverseSpeakers "0" QuestSubtitlesEnabled "0" CinematicsSubtitlesEnabled "0" PlayInBackground "0" MuteSound "0" MuteEffects "0" MuteAmbient "0" MuteVoice "0" MuteMusic "1" Is my laptop trash or is there anything I can do to improve my fps so that I can play while I my main desktop is being fixed ? | ||

| nReCon, Most likely, you're up against a problem Windows 8.1 seems to have in letting the game switch over to use the Nvidia video device. You can verify if this is happening by examining your D3Debug.txt file and seeing which device is being used. Just below the line 2014.05.10 17:33:58.885331700 ****** Graphics Device Info ****** you'll see the device that's being used. If it's the Intel integrated one, it explains the low performance. You can read through this thread on the US forum to get more info and a possible workaround. http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/11913302274 _________________________________________________________ I'm available in the forums Tuesday - Friday, 11 am - 8 pm Pacific Time Saturday 10 am - 7 pm Pacific Time Feedback? - https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Omrakos _________________________________________________________ I'm available in the forums Tuesday - Friday, 11 am - 8 pm Pacific Time Saturday 10 am - 7 pm Pacific Time Feedback? - https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Omrakos | ||

| nReCon, I don't really see anything here that would cause lower performance. I'd like to see your dxdiag info before making any recommendations though. You can find this information in the Direct X Diagnostic Tool: Click on Start Click on Run Type in: dxdiag (In Vista, type dxdiag in the search field) Hit Enter or OK Click on the Save All Information button at the bottom, and create a dxdiag text file, and copy and paste it ALL here. I'd also suggest maybe installing EVGA's Precision X app and checking to see if your GPU is clocked to it's normal value while playing. It's possible GPU Boost 2.0 has it lowered if it's overheated. _________________________________________________________ I'm available in the forums Tuesday - Friday, 11 am - 8 pm Pacific Time Saturday 10 am - 7 pm Pacific Time Feedback? - https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Omrakos | ||

| nReCon , I'd like you try a couple of things to see if they have an effect on the issue or not. First, try disabling sound in the game and then testing it. If that has not effect, go ahead and re-enable it and then reboot in selective startup mode and test again. Try booting in selective startup once and playing like that for a little while and see if it happens again. _________________________________________________________ I'm available in the forums Tuesday - Friday, 11 am - 8 pm Pacific Time Saturday 10 am - 7 pm Pacific Time Feedback? - https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Omrakos | ||
