| Patch 2.0.4.23119 -- Blizzard's war on the over 50's(1) | Category: Technical SupportApril-9-2014 3:34 PM PDT (9 years ago) ![]() | |
| A.k.a. "I paid £50 and all I got was a laggy mouse and a disconnect message". So, patch day, and the game is unplayable. Suddenly there's mouse lag. There wasn't anything about this in the patch notes. Why are you messing around with mouse issues if you're not mentioning it? What is this, a genetic algorithm that randomly changes a section of your codebase with every patch? The knowledge base mentions mouse lag problems if the Windows display text size is set to 125% in Control Panel. Mine's been set to that ever since I got the monitor, two years ago, it's never been a problem, until today. Please don't make changes without testing them! Or fire your test team. I tried changing my font size back to 100% and, bam! I could play again. But now I can't use my PC for anything *except* playing Diablo III 'cos the text is too small. Did I say I could play again? I meant, I could play for 5 minutes until I got a DC. Without any warning. And again, And again. And again. So now, the great mouse control allows me to click on the disconnect message box without missing. Hurrah! I've reset Windows' text size to 125% so that I can type this without straining my eyes. I'll come back in a few days and see if you've fixed the mouse issue; if not, I guess readable text is more important to me than playing some game. Diablo III: it was fun while it lasted. | ||
