| Lion, I'm sorry, but no, there is no way to get back a lost item in Diablo III unless it was accidentally sold to a vendor and you use the buyback tab. You should never drop an item you value on the ground for any reason as you never know what might become of it. In this case, a game mechanic wherein the party leader exits will cause you to exit also, leaving the item lost.
