| Why are people so fixated on expanding the game around these little beasts? It really surprises me. | ||

I think people suggest creating new events themed around Treasure Goblins because they incorporate several fun game elements.
This is just to promote discussion, but why do you like or dislike Treasure Goblins? Would you like to see them in more events?

As a hardcore player, I like the amplified sensation of risk knowing that if I chase the goblin, I might not only end up surrounded by monsters ... but could quite possibly end up in a deadly situation. As a lover of Diablo, I don't mind what the slightly goofy, gibbering imp does to the tone...at least, not any more than I mind how my follower will ask me if I have any laraas bread and sweet wine while six orb spawning elites are trying to murder me forever. As a long-term player, I agree the goblins are disappointing in that they tend to just drop stuff that is otherwise available in chests and other monster loot. +1 for being able to leap into their portal someday. Maybe if we kill them while the portal is open (perhaps at the point when damaging the goblin no longer closes it)? That would take more precise timing and could make for a nice a nice little mini-dungeon. This response does a good job of summarizing a lot of what I've been reading, and that's a great battletag, BadWolf. What if sometimes when the goblin escapes, "something else" comes through the portal at you? I've thought about following the goblin through the portal before, but I haven't spent much time thinking about what else might come out of it. Interesting.
