For clarity, profanity and insults lobbed at others (be they Blizzard employees or other players) are not okay and will likely lead to your post/thread being locked or removed outright. In some cases, depending on the severity of what's been said, your account may even be penalized. That's not ideal for you or us, so working to be as constructive as possible -- even if you're voicing a dissenting opinion -- is always a good tactic to strive for. A great way of putting this is to "attack an idea, not a person. Unfortunately Lylirra, insults lobbed at other players seem rarely to be actioned. The recent, even ongoing debate, over the Auction Houses is as good enough example as you'll ever need. Both sides of that debate have included players who do absolutely nothing for these forums but post vile, hate-filled posts that add nothing whatsoever to the debate, and probably are mostly aimed at just getting a rise out of people. I say this with all due respect, but the "moderation" of these forums is woeful. Almost without exception, the ONLY threads I've seen locked or removed over the last 5 days have been those whose worthless pathetic hate-filled abusive posting was aimed at Blizzard. A much more aggressive - and uniformly applied - banhammer-wielding enforcement of common courtesy and civility would do wonders for the quality of debate on these forums. | ||

| We're certainly not infallible, so we're not going to catch every single insult or use of obscenity -- that's definitely true. The community team will typically moderate everything we see off-hand (as we read through your feedback), and the moderation team will go after content that's been reported to us. That's a pretty wide net, but again...it's not 100% foolproof. The best thing I can advise is to report the bad posts that you see; this will ensure a moderator it gets brought to a moderator's attention. If you don't report something, I can't guarantee that we'll be in a position to assist. Even so, we're always looking for suggestions for improvement, so please feel free to kick off a feedback email to either forum@blizzard.com to lylirra@blizzard.com. :) Thanks! | ||
