Console Diablo III With Penny Arcade and Scott Kurtz

Watch a full party on the PS3 Diablo III play through to the Skeleton King

In one month Diablo III will be unleashed on the PS3 and Xbox 360, when it arrives on September 3. Here's a video showing how the game plays on the local "couch rules" mode with a full party. Gabe, Tycho, and Jamie from Penny Arcade were joined by Scott Kurtz, creator of PvP Online, to sit down and play the PS3 version of Diablo III together. They were recorded as they advance from the beginning, figuring out the basic controls, all the way through to a skillful kill of the Skeleton King.

In our own PS3 Diablo III preview we were impressed by the local co-op mode, and how much fun it is to play the game with other people all together. That same enjoyment can be seen in the videos here. There is a 3 minute highlight video, and a full two-hour playthrough video (which is NSFW from some language).

Watch Gabe, Tycho, and Jamie from Penny Arcade team up with Scott Kurtz, creator of PvP Online, to try out the new console controls on the PS3 version of Diablo III.

Together, they track down Leoric the Skeleton King on a four-player rampage of demon-slaying, trash-talking, and ninja-looting. We don't want to spoil the video for you, but suffice it to say shenanigans are on the rise in New Tristram.

Watch the short highlight reel of their hijinks-infused playthrough here:

Or, if you’d rather get comfortable and watch the full two-hour playthrough, it's right over here:
