Life Regen Doubled in Skills on 1.0.8 PTR

A new PTR build brings boosts for greater multiplayer skill support

And just like that, the Public Test Realm patch notes have been updated! Here is the full list of changes from the Patch 1.0.8 PTR Patch Notes for the new PTR build, which is now up on the PTR. This brings the PTR to build 1.0.8.16107. Our previous news about the skill changes is below the new patch notes.
GENERAL
  • The bonus experience granted by Enlightened shrines is now also calculated multiplicatively

    • The "Massive Blow" achievement should once again be obtainable
    • The "Fallen Angel" achievement now only requires the player to kill Izual within 120 seconds
    • The "Bashanishu" achievement no longer requires the player to use Basic Attack to complete it
    • The "Hero's New Clothes" achievement no longer requires the player to deliver the fatal blow to meet the criteria
    • The "Uncaged" achievement now requires the player to stay alive during the encounter
    • The "Good Eye" achievement now requires the player to stay alive during the encounter
    • Fixed an issue that caused the "Self Sufficient" achievement to sometimes not be awarded the first time a player killed Diablo

    • Monsters with the Avenger affix now correctly gain +25% damage each time a monster in their pack dies
    • Monsters with the Vampiric affix now correctly heal for 200% of their damage done in all difficulties


The next build for Diablo III Patch 1.0.8 is getting prepared, to go on the Public Test Realm. An early data-mining look at the files from the next PTR build show more changes to skills, primarily boosts to Life Regeneration within skills, as well as some promised damage buffs to Firebats and Ray of Frost. Changes to passive skills reflect the increased support for multiplayer in 1.0.8: Inspiring Presence now affects everyone in the group instead of just the Barbarian, and Guiding Light is being boosted to provide more damage. Here are the skill changes so far:

Barbarian
Demon Hunter
  • Sentry
  • Companion
    • Companion - Boar Companion - Summon a boar instead of a raven. The boar increases your Life regeneration by 155 310 per second. In addition the boar increases your resistances to all damage types by 15%.
  • Brooding You gain 1 2% of your maximum Life per second.

Monk
  • Mantra of Healing - Cost: 50 Spirit / Recite a Mantra that causes you and your allies within 40 yards to gain increased Life regeneration by 310 620 Life per second. The Mantra lasts 3 minutes. / For 3 seconds after activation Mantra of Healing shrouds you and your allies with a mystical shield that absorbs up to 930 damage. / This is a Mantra. You can only have one Mantra active at a time.
  • Guiding Light - Whenever you use a direct heal skill on another player you and the other player deal 16 20% more damage for 15 seconds.

Witch Doctor
  • Firebats - Cost: 221 Mana initially, and an additional 66 Mana while channeling / Call forth a swarm of fiery bats to burn enemies in front of you for 180 385% weapon damage as Fire.
    • Firebats - Plague Bats - Diseased bats fly towards the enemy and infect them. Damage is slow at first, but can increase over time to a maximum of 270 578% weapon damage as Poison.
    • Firebats - Cloud of Bats - Call forth a swirl of bats that damage nearby enemies for 234 501]% weapon damage as Fire. The damage of the bats increases by 20]% every second, up to a maximum of 100]%.
  • Blood Ritual - 15% of Mana costs are paid with Life. In addition, you regenerate 1 2% of your maximum Life per second.

Wizard
  • Ray of Frost - Cost: 16 Arcane Power / Project a beam of frozen ice that blasts 215 280% weapon damage as Cold to the first enemy it hits, slowing the target's movement by 60% for 4 seconds.
    • Ray of Frost - Snow Blast - Using continuously on a single target increases damage over 1.5 seconds to inflict a maximum of 280 364% weapon damage as Cold.
    • Ray of Frost - Sleet Storm - Create a swirling storm around you, dealing 280 364]% weapon damage as Cold to all enemies caught within it.
    • Ray of Frost - Black Ice - Enemies killed with Ray of Frost leave behind a patch of ice that deals 387 504% weapon damage as Cold to enemies moving through it over 3 seconds.
  • Familiar
    • Familiar - Vigoron - While the Familiar is active, you regenerate 310 620 Life per second.
  • Galvanizing Ward - Increases the duration of your Armor spells by 120 seconds. As long as an Armor spell is active, you gain 310 620 Life per second.

Templar
  • Loyalty - Regenerates 155 310 Life per second for you and the Templar.

It remains to be seen if these changes, and the others so far in patch 1.0.8, will make a dramatic difference in the Most Popular Skills that Diablo III players use on a regular basis. The developers are clearly trying to provide some other alternatives to the standard builds, as well as boosting the power of Life Regeneration skills.
