Diablo III Patch 1.0.6 is Live

Minor client fixes in patch 1.0.6, and testing of new Battle.net functionality

Battle.net Icon
Diablo III is now patched to client patch 1.0.6, bringing a few small client fixes. Normally a version bump from 1.0.5 to 1.0.6 would bring about major changes; minor fixes like this traditionally are part of a very minor number change, to something like patch 1.0.5b. But there are also some internal changes to the client that are laying the groundwork for increased features in battle.net communication and login. It is likely that because of that, Blizzard decided to go ahead and put it to version number 1.0.6.

Jump past the break for all the details!

The patch notes are now up on the client launcher:

Diablo III Patch 1.0.6 - v.1.0.6.13300

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue that allowed players to bypass the one-second trade timer when exchanging items via the Trade window
  • Fixed an issue that caused the same item to occasionally drop for players using Threatening Shout with the Grim Harvest rune

A Blizzard blog post gives a tidbit of information about the data for battle.net changes that are also included in this patch.

We will soon begin limited testing on updates to some Battle.net functionality (mainly communication and login). As a part of this process, you may notice some minor Battle.net-related UI changes while logged in to Diablo III, World of Warcraft, and StarCraft II.

Patch 1.0.6 for Diablo III includes some of the data for this testing but will not impact your play experience. Similar testing-related data will be patched into World of Warcraft and StarCraft II in the future.

Please note that at this stage the testing is limited, but we'll keep everyone updated and invite you to help us test the changes as soon as we can. We look forward to sharing more information about what's in store for Battle.net in the future, so stay tuned.

Update: The final patch 1.0.6 patch notes are now up:

Diablo III patch 1.0.6 is now live in the Americas. Check out the full patch notes below to learn about all the latest changes.

Important: Please note that you will not be prompted to download patch 1.0.6 until the patch is live in your home region. If you are logging in from a European or Asian client, you will need to wait for this patch to release in that region before it can be installed. Additionally, if your home region is the Americas, you will be unable to log into Europe or Asia using Global Play after patch 1.0.6 is live until those regions have also patched.
