Patch 1.0.4 Known Issues, and Undocumented Changes

Many changes and oddities that weren't in the official patch notes.

1.0.4 Patch
In patch 1.0.4 as with all Diablo III patches, there are always changes that weren't in the official patch notes. Some of these are improvements and tweaks to the game that just didn't get mentioned, and others are the more annoying bugs that weren't fixed in the latest patch.

We have two large lists, that cover those areas. First is the official known issues thread for patch 1.0.4, with various bugs and oddities that either are new to the game, or have been around for a while and still aren't fixed in this patch. There is also a list of undocumented changes, from a list compiled on Reddit.

Patch 1.0.4 Known Issues
Hello everyone, and welcome to Patch 1.0.6a! Below you will find the Known Issues list for our 1.0.6a patch (patch notes are available here). Please do not report bugs that you see on this list as we already know about them, and help out other players reporting bugs by referring them to this list.

As a reminder, this list will not list every bug that is active in the 1.0.6a patch. What it is listing are issues that are active and confirmed as bugs by Quality Assurance. In addition, potential exploits and the like will never be listed here.

Please note that documented bugs may not always be fixed in the order in which they were reported. In some rare cases, we may not have a timeline for a when a bug will be fixed and some bugs may not be able to be fixed at all. If we are able to verify that a documented bug cannot be fixed, it will be removed from this list.

Achievements
  • It is possible to not be able to receive the “Bashanishu” achievement if you hit Bashiok using a Basic Attack (not a skill).


  • The Demon Hunter achievement "Bleed, You Filth!" is not granted the first time you complete the criteria.


  • The Demon Hunter achievement "Death Trap" is not granted the first time you complete the criteria.


  • The “Haunted” achievement criteria will not be met when the mob is killed by an ally or pet without the player tagging it.


  • The "Self Sufficient" achievement is not awarded the first time you kill the boss and meet the achievement.


Auction House
  • There is no tooltip that explains the dynamic sort filter.


Combat
  • Demon Hunter - Companion: The cleave attack target areas from Wolf and Spider companions are not tall enough to hit monsters above them.


  • Witch Doctor - Hex: Hexed targets are not displaying damage numbers above their heads.


  • Wizard - Archon: There are several actions triggering Archon to be cast while assigned to the left mouse button that did not do so before patch 1.0.5.


  • Wizard - Critical Mass: Critical Mass is not affecting Teleport or Slow Time when Archon is activated.


Items
  • MinMaxDam Affix is calculating the damage bonus on weapon incorrectly.


  • Ruby gems socketed to certain weapon types do not add the correct value to the weapon's maximum damage.


Quests
  • Act 4 - The Pinnacle of Heaven: There can be two Tyraels in the cutscene on "Prime Evil : Climb to the Pinnacle of Heaven in the Silver Spire" during a multiplayer game.


User Interface
  • Attempting to edit more than 27 Key Bindings will cause changes to Key Bindings, Gameplay, and Social settings to not be changed.



Patch 1.0.4 Undocumented Changes

Graphical Changes

  • Graphical effect of molten explosion from elites is now larger and more obvious.
  • Graphical effect of molten trail from elites changed.
  • Graphical effect of frozen explosion from elites now shows a halo of the affected radius
  • Graphical effect of mortar from elites now shows where it will land via a reticle.
  • The reticle for Belial's two-handed attack is much larger, his 1 handed attack reticle is the same.
  • New animation for Monk - Blind.
  • New graphical effect for Monk - Sweeping Wind, Blade Storm
  • The Exploding Palm symbol is much larger over the affected monster.
  • Enemies initially affected by locust swarm will flash green briefly.
  • Rend now shows a 'bloody' icon over affected mobs, rather than the 'scratches' over the body.
  • Graphical change to Slow Time bubble.
  • New color for Dye - Spring Dye.
  • Small changes to the look of dyed armours for witch doctor and DH ilvl 61+ gear.
  • Banner colors tweaked slightly.

NPCs

  • Town healer will heal you automatically when clicked on, without needing a 2nd dialogue option.
  • Wounded Guard in the Fields of Slaughter will now correctly drop an item when talked to.
  • Captain Haile's Supply Chest in Act 3 no longer drops gold.

Coop

  • Other players buffs/mantras no longer show up in Co-op beside their nameplates.

Interface

  • Ctrl-R will now correctly display your FPS.
  • Portraits in the character select screen used to be black for normal, and red for hardcore. They are now all colored blue (probably for Paragon levels).
  • The fade out effect of skipping in-game cut scene appears to have been removed in some cutscenes. It will instantly return to game without a fade out.

Barbarian

  • Sprint no longer reduces the cooldown for Charge - Merciless Assault.
  • War Cry now immediately cools down on death.
  • Ignore Pain - Reflect damage no longer triggers procs.

Demon Hunter

  • You can no longer glitch to 0 health by using smoke screen and taking damage from ground DOTs.

Monk

  • Spirit generating skills will give bonus spirit per monster affected by a critical effect, instead of a flat increase (see mucoromycotina's post for details).

Witch Doctor

  • Big Stinky Gargantuan's aura will not trigger procs.
  • Decrease in proc rate of Rain of Toads.

Wizard

  • Critical Mass now works for Archon Abilities (Slow time, teleport, etc)

Monsters

  • Butcher Arena no longer has a 'safe spot' from the fire. It now correctly does damage.

Areas

  • You are no longer able to shoot monsters on the left side in Tower of the Cursed level 2.
  • Major decrease in goblin spawn rate in Ancient Path.

  • The Watchtower in Act 1 can spawn both elite cultists and leapers.

Crafting

  • 2 socket pants can now be crafted.

Followers

  • Aura effects are removed if they die
