Lag Spikes, Game painful to play.....(1)Category: Technical SupportJuly-27-2016 6:10 PM PDT (8 years ago) Go to Blizzard forum post
So since either 2.4.0 or 2.4.1 i have been getting crazy lag on my DH. it seems to mostly happen during a speed boost or when using vault. i will be sitting at 60ms or so and hit vault twice and boom im at 3k and depending on what im doing probably dead..... i have also noticed about the same time the vault ability lag started my salvage merchant started lagging like crazy as well.

i have been reading up on this issue for weeks and have tried everything from, QoS, restarting router, uninstalling/reinstalling netcard drivers, reinstalling the game, flushing DNS, even eliminating my router from my network completely.

I dont understand it but this is painful to play anymore. anyhelp would be awesome, this is the only game i own that lags at all.

currently running:

AMD FX-8150
GTX 980
16 gigs corsair ram
OCZ SSD
Asrock Fatality Mobo
Corsair AX860i psu
100mb Charter/Comcast Net
Decent Linksys Router

Let me know if you have any ideas or have the same issue. i want this fixed bad. new season right around the corner.

Hey Oober,

Let's get a WinMTR connection log so we can see what the connection is doing here:

  • First, download the WInMTR program
  • To run this you’ll want to right click on the .exe and select run as admin or you’ll likely get an error.
  • In the “Host” field you want to put in the server IP:12.129.222.10
  • Click Start and now we want to run this while you’re playing the game. So go ahead and log in.
  • Let this run for roughly 10-20 minute intervals while you play until you start to lag or DC. By this I basically mean play for 10-20 minutes if you don’t DC stop it and start the WinMTR again. That way we can have about 10-20 minutes worth of connection information while the game is having latency or DC.
  • Once you’re sure that you have the ~10-20 minutes of latency/DCs recorded. Press the stop button and just select the option for “Export TEXT”.
  • Save the file as something easy to remember on the desktop and post here.

The connection doesn't look too bad, there is some data loss but it's only a few packets over quite some time. Can you grab your DXDiag for me and post that up please.
