The world of Sanctuary is a BIG place, defended by hundreds of thousands of heroes each and every day. To help you get to know some of these fellow nephalem a little better, we've created the Fresh Meat N' Greet.

The Fresh Meet N' Greet is a recurring series of interviews featuring you, our community. A few times each month, we'll sit down and chat with six different community members, one for each class, and then post our Q&As right here in these forums.

Up this week for Wizards: yodatoy #1838

[GENERAL INFO]

Grimiku: Tell us a bit about yourself.

yodatoy : I came to US when I was 12 years old. I'm a father of 8 year old son and 4 year old daughter. I am married to a wife who is an optometrist. I'm a general dentist practicing in Center City, PA. I was in the US Navy for 3 years as Lieutenant and I am extremely proud of serving this country. I consider myself a devout Christian but it's funny how I am in the hell every night.

Grimiku: Got any cool hobbies or talents?

yodatoy : When I look at the full mouth x-ray of a patient, I know exactly who that patient is and remember everything about that person.

Grimiku: What is your history as a gamer?

yodatoy : My friend first introduced me to video games in Commadore 64 and Atari when I was in 7th grade. Then my mom bought my brother and me our very first Nintendo in 1986. Since then I became an avid fan of Nintendo games ranging in all kinds of genre, eg, Legend of Zelda, Super Mario Brothers, Street Fighters, even Excitebike. But early on, I think I picked games according to the graphics of the box - cooler it was, I figured better the game was which was not the case most of the time. Then I moved on to Sony Playstation, Xbox 360, Nintendo DS and PS Vista. I was never a pc gamer until I started playing Starcraft with my friends. I used to play a lot of 2v2, 3v3, 4v4 macro team games. Unfortunately I never learned hot keys and it was all about how fast I moved the mouse . Then I told myself that I was going to get really good at playing Warcraft III and I was determined to learn the hot keys. When I was about to get really serious with it, I was called on a deployment to Kuwait for 6 months during the Operation Iraqi Freedom. In retrospect, it got me off the addiction from playing Warcraft III.

Grimiku: What are some of your favorite games?

yodatoy : Legend of Zelda, Final Fantasy 7, Final Fantasy 10, Warcraft III, Mass Effect

Grimiku: What’s your history with the Diablo franchise?

yodatoy : I played D1, D2 and now D3. But I didn't play D1 and D2 as much as I'm playing D3 now.

Grimiku: Are you playing any other classes right now?

yodatoy : WD - tikki, carnevil, pet, zdps except jade. I only play intel class because I don't feel like plvling any other classes. It feels like a chore playing a class other than intel class.

Grimiku: Are you in a great clan or community? If yes, tell us about them!

yodatoy : Are you in a clan? If yes, tell us about it!
Ah...my clan...yes...Clan <Viz>. It's been already introduced by Doly, BDF, and Melkor so I would rather not go in detail. Nonetheless, I simply want to say that most of <Viz> members are so down to earth and extremely knowledgeable when it comes to D3 theory crafting. I have never encountered such hardcore players (skill and mechanics) as they are. Most importantly, I think we have the best website - vizjereiclan.com thanks to Dredscythe and Jaetch. We even incorporated a membership application tab. Go check it out if you are interested!

Grimiku: What's your most embarrassing moment while playing?

yodatoy : About a month or two ago, I was playing with Boozor, Pens, and Hyperion in a game. I think Hyperion found and dropped some DH item on the ground which I mindlessly picked it up and automatically salvaged it. Then I opened the gate for the next game but for some reason none of them followed me. After like 2 mins into the rifting, I realized that I was all alone and in "All" chat. I switched to "Party" chat and noticed that they were all asking me about what happened to the DH item that was just dropped on the ground and asked me if I had it. I think Boozor wanted it because apparently according to them, it was "once in a life time" DH item or something. I got nervous so initially I lied to them that I think it was in my stash but in the end, I told them that I must have salvaged it. I have tendency to salvage anything that I saw on the ground. My...I think they were more annoyed than upset. I felt really bad that I literally wanted to squeeze myself into a mouse hole.

Grimiku: Okay, what about your most AWESOME moment while playing?

yodatoy : When I bought two relatively coveted rare items in vanilla - one was trifecta mit rare amulet and the other was trifect LOH rare ring. I was playing AH shopping.

[I'M JUST WARMING UP]

Grimiku: What drew you to the Wizard?

yodatoy: In D2, I played Paladin. I remember there was PvP and my friend who was female wiz always killed me with her blizzard. so I told myself that when D3 came out, I was going to be the OP wiz class.

Grimiku: In displaying your battle prowess, do you prefer to burn, electrocute, or freeze your foes? Or do you prefer a mixture of destructive elemental energies?

yodatoy: I like freezing my foes since I played permafreeze sns/CM wiz in vanilla. One of the main reasons vanilla wiz was able to survived in T6 was because of good crowd control with frost nova and CM. There is no other skill better than permafreeze in my opinion.

Grimiku: What's your favorite skill (or skill rune), and why?

yodatoy: My favorite skill is whatever Boozor tells me to use.

Grimiku: What build are you running currently?

yodatoy: Cookie cutter FB.

Grimiku: If there was one thing you could change about the Wizard, what would it be?

yodatoy: Honestly, I don't think about that. I just follow whatever wiz gurus - Boozor, Jaetch, BDF and Junger use and copy their profile. That's how it has been since vanilla.

Grimiku: Pick a Wizard quote!

yodatoy: Uh...I don't know any because my volume is turned off all the time so I don't know what Wiz says. But if Thomas Edison was a wizard: "Genius is 1% inspiration, 99% perspiration?. Kinda cliche quote but that's the model I have followed up until I graduated from the dental school. Now I just work, be a parent, play D3 and go to church.

Grimiku: If your old masters could see you now, what do you think they would say?

yodatoy: "Why are you carrying dead snakes, a frog, and a skull???

Grimiku: Name one piece of advice that you think every Wizard should know.

yodatoy: Never quit.

[WHO'S NEXT?]

Grimiku: Which of your fellow Wizards should we also interview?

yodatoy: I thought about this over the weekend. Boozor, Hub, Pallis, Junger, Nel, Mzy, Vike, Brendson, Roger, Tek, Pie, Flo - any of them are interesting and deserve to be interviewed but Melkor hoped that someone outside of Viz Clan should be interviewed. Hence, it sort of came down between Jonathan whom I have been playing with lately and Vox. When you check out Jonathans profile, he literally has played wiz only with plvl 680. He has no other characters. That's pretty impressive and shows a lot of dedication of being a true wiz. Vox mains a wiz and has a support monk but he has over 800+plvl. I understand that both of them are fathers with kids like me.

In the end, I decided that Vox should be interviewed next because he's been around for a long time and he seems like an innovator when it comes to wiz gaming. Lastly I want to shout out to iam1000j who is my real life college friend and only real life friend who started D3 with me from the beginning and still plays the game.

PS: Since Vox was nominted in Kiza's Meet and Greet, I have changed my next interviewee to Jonathan.

Grimiku: Kiza asks “What three Quality of Life changes would you make to the D3 game?”

yodatoy: Let me see...
1) Always have Kadala stand right next to the blacksmith in all acts so gambled items can be salvaged without traveling too far back and forth.
2) Healing potions should not be auto pick up anymore (change back).
3) Plvl points can now have an option of number input box instead of clicking on the mouse when it is being distributed.

Grimiku: Pick a question to ask in the next interview:

yodatoy: How would your daily life be different WITHOUT D3?
