| Since everyone is moving onto the Bane of Trapped gravy train (I'd like to think I thought of the idea but who am I kidding) since it is infinitely better then anything except for Zei's when in effect. I purpose the follow up inquiry which is: Bane of powerful (BOP) vs Toxin gem (TOX) The gripe about BOP is that the buff falls off when you need it the most, against the RG in GRIFTS, which is a long a55 fight, so any increase in DPS is worth considering. In T6, it doesn't matter and 20%+ and 15% elite is 99% up. So for T6 take BOP, got it. What about for Grifts? I've noticed people dropping BOP for Trapped and keeping Toxin. Why? Toxin provides 10% additive IIRC and wep% over 10 seconds versus BOP's 15% elite as well as conditional 20%+ additive. Assuming you have 1-min of the 20%+ conditional buff from BOP against the RG, you still fall off onto the 15% elite damage after that. So can someone clarify to me the preference towards the Toxin gem ? It feels like a wash AT WORSE between the two gems against the RG in GRIFTS, but during GR and during T6, the BOP will win damage wise. (except against angels ofc) Discuss. RESULTS TL : DR ? Furnace you'd most likely take TOX gem due to high elite % devaluing BOP's 15% elite bonus as well as SS you'd most likely take BOP gem due to low elite %. SK (My set up (73% elite and 78% fire elem, no gems) - and which my calculations/conclusions are based upon) It is very close, but I think TOX's consistency will win out the gains from an ideal BOP situation. Full buff from BOP vs TOX, about 10-12% increase in elite DPS, and 5-7% increase in trash DPS. When 20% situational buff wears off, TOX is clear winner with more utility against both trash and elites. In T6 where the 10 second duration is a near non factor, i'd take BOP over TOX. Stat allocation of elemental % / elite % and other buffs/debuffs will influence the effectiveness of both gems.
